Cinturion Corp Ltd., a provider of scalable, subsea and terrestrial capacity-based network solutions spanning India, the Middle East and Europe, along with partners BTC Networks and DRG Undersea Consulting announced that construction has commenced on the Trans-Europe Asia System (TEAS). The system is set to be an information superhighway, capable of transmitting over 300 Tbps of data capacity throughout India, the Middle East and Europe. When complete, TEAS will be the region’s most state-of-the-art system delivering diverse parallel routes offering advanced features and high capacity interlinks across land and sea.
The TEAS system is designed to deliver two diverse connections across the Mediterranean Sea, with two diverse paths inter-linking the Middle East delivering multiple routes across the Arabian Peninsula, through the Gulf of Aqaba, and the Red Sea. This new system offers cutting edge optical capabilities designed to support modern Data Center deployments while bringing much needed broadband and low latency access to the region. For the first time in this region, the open system offers fiber optic ownership opportunities to a broad range of customers.
The system build is possible through contracts with DRG Undersea Consulting, an experienced submarine engineering and project management company, and BTC Networks, responsible for the terrestrial network design. In addition, a number of local in-country licensed service providers are aligned with the project, establishing landing sites with commitments that include carrier neutral facilities offering Open Access System rights. The project, purposely designed to provide open and neutral access will enable customers the ability to deploy their own hardware and software on their fiber network ownership routes, fortified with the most advanced network security.
