Following the recent International Telecoms Week (ITW) event, which took place May 8-11 in Chicago, Data Center POST had the opportunity to speak with CEO of Axiom Fiber Networks, Felipe Alvarez, to discuss his conference experience as well as recent company news. Axiom provides telecommunications infrastructure services over its fiber network to carriers and enterprise customers in the greater New York metropolitan area, and its dark fiber, custom networking solutions and ongoing lifecycle management services are purposely designed to generate an enhanced customer experience from sale through implementation.
Data Center POST, Kathy Xu (DCP-KX) Question: Can you tell our readers about Axiom Fiber Networks and what problems your company is seeking to solve in the New York City region?
AXIOM FIBER NETWORKS, Felipe Alvarez (AXIOM-FA) Answer: Our main function at Axiom is to generate solutions that meet the growing demand for dark fiber in New York City, while filling in the gaps for enhanced connectivity. Dark fiber is not a new topic, but over the last couple of years, the community has undoubtedly been experiencing a growing demand for improved network infrastructure as customer needs evolve. A few short years ago, companies were unaware of the fact that they could operate their own networks, but as needs have changed, today’s businesses are beginning to recognize its potential value. While there is no questioning the need for dark fiber across the New York metro area, congestion within the marketplace is still a considerable challenge. What sets Axiom apart from the pack is our ability to move quickly and provide superior and customizable connectivity options with speed, simplicity and confidence.
